Certificate in Solo and Small Law Practice

The Certificate in Solo and Small Law Practice is designed for students who desire to practice law as a solo practitioner, in a small law firm or small town or rural area. To earn the Certificate in Solo and Small Law Practice, a student must earn 21 credits from the following courses designated as Required Courses, Electives and Skills Courses which can be found in the Solo Practice and Small Law worksheet. Students must also complete the writing requirement as set forth below. Students must maintain an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 in all courses in the certificate program to complete the certificate requirements. Additionally, students must earn at least a grade of C+ in any additional individual course counted toward the certificate.
Students are encouraged to declare their intention to participate in the Solo and Small Law Firm Program of Concentrated Study as early as possible so they can plan their remaining course of studies appropriately.

General Small Law/Solo Practice "Door Law" Courses
Real & Intellectual Property Courses
Finance & Banking Courses
Courses dedicated to various litigation/practice types
Skills Requirements (minimum of 3 credits)
Writing Requirement (2-3 Credits)
