Certificate in Business and Commercial Law

To receive a Certificate in Business and Commercial Law, students must complete a minimum of 21 credits consisting of the required courses (10 credits), 9 credits in the elective courses listed below and at least 2 credits in designated skills courses. Students must also complete the writing requirement on a business law topic. Students must maintain an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 in all courses in the certificate program to complete the certificate requirements. Additionally, students must earn at least a grade of C+ in any individual course that is counted toward the certificate.

Writing Requirement
In addition, to successfully complete the certificate program, a student must complete the writing requirement for graduation on a topic in business law as approved by the Faculty Advisor unless the writing requirement is completed in a course listed as a core or elective course for the certificate. A course in which the writing requirement is fulfilled may not be counted as an elective toward the satisfaction of the certificate requirements.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENT
Students must apply for admission to a Designated Faculty Advisor for the Business and Commercial Law Certificate Program. A student may apply for admission beginning with the registration period for the third semester of law school. However, no application may be made after the drop/add period in the students final semester.
