LAW 720 - AntitrustCredits, 3 sem. hrs. The law and economics of cartels and exclusionary business practices. The course focuses on sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act and sections 3 and 7 of the Clayton Act. The practices considered include price-fixing, territorial allocation schemes, mergers, monopolization, boycotts, tying arrangements, and vertical integration. Students are expected to master some elementary methods of economic analysis, but no background in economics is required.
