LAW 774 - Law and Economics SeminarCredits, 2 sem. hrs.This course draws from various areas of the common law - property, contract, tort and criminal – to examine economic theory as it applies to various legal problems. The economic analysis of law is a strong analytical tool for legal reasoning; students in this course will be encouraged to apply economic concepts to deepen their understanding of how the legal system as an institution functions in society. This course will also cover public regulation of the market, income and wealth distribution, the legal process, and the Constitution and the federal system. A background in economics is not a prerequisite. |
